This document, courtesy of Doctors Berta Cano and Mark Hutchings from the University of Valladolid, who guided us in our walk following the steps of the English Ambassadors in 1605.
You can make your own walk with your students choosing from these texts which describe the stay of 600 members of the English Embassy on the occasion of the Peace Treaty signed by both countries. They show three very different points of view of the same events written by a Spanish, a Portuguese and an English croniclers.
The study of this historical event, written by Doctors Berta Cano and Mark Hutchings, can be found in the book: Occasions of State: Early Modern European Festivals and the Negotiation of Power, which will be published very soon by Routledge Editorial.
You can also enjoy this city walk in a guided visit if you book it at the tourist office in our city.
